Straight From Your Oven
At Crest Hill Bakery, master baker David Neville has perfected a way to bring you fresh-baked bread from your own oven, with all of the rich texture and flavor of European Hearth Baked breads. Our customers tell us that its as good as buying a fresh loaf from our bakery!
All Natural Ingredients
We start by using only the finest natural ingredients available (we never add preservatives, conditioners, fats, or sugars to our doughs). Unlike many other bakeries, our Hearth Breads are made with natural starters (instead of processed yeast), which yield the richest flavors possible. High quality flours are then mixed with our starters and filtered water to produce rich, mouth watering flavors.
Traditional Handmade Bread
Our skilled bakers allow the dough to rise several times before shaping the loaves by hand. This is a time intensive process similar to allowing a fine wine to age before drinking. The bread is then allowed to rise one last time, and cuts are made the traditional wayby handon the top of the loaves to let steam escape during baking.
Baked in Stone-Lined Ovens
Finally, our breads are peel-baked in stone-lined French ovens. The breads are placed directly on the stone hearth of the oven which ensures even baking. Because we bake on stone, youll never see a screen imprint on the bottoms of our loaves. We take the slow, traditional, proven approach to making bread, always resulting in superb flavor. |
